7 Habits of Highly Effective Divas

Who run the world? Divas.

In the words of the great Dave Chapelle:

Jay-Z may have "shut the fuck up" money, but Beyoncé  has "No, you shut the fuck up"  money. In his latest stand-up installment on Netflix, Chapelle muses on the Forbes status of his, Kevin Hart's, Jay-Z's and Beyoncé's bank accounts.

Queen Bey told us, very clearly, in her 2011 lead single for the studio album 4, "Run the World (Girls)" that women have indeed been running the show for quite a while now, making the money, bearing the children, and then getting back to business. Feminism and female empowerment have taken this stance in recent years since, with a big theme coming through in a lot of pop anthems all centering around working, coming into or owning your greatness.

Thus inspiration for this article was born. If you happen to be looking for a way to be a boss just like your favorite Diva, look no further. And so, without further adieu, I present Nerdmerson's  7 Habits of Highly Effective Divas:

1. DIVA IS A FEMALE VERSION OF A HUSTLA.

First and foremost, you must be proactive. Always work towards expanding your influence. You must be as tenacious as Queen Bey in pursuit of your fierceness. Werk!

2. MARRY THE NIGHT

Think about what you want, envision it, and then go after it! Don't be afraid of the unknown or the dark road ahead. Risking it all like Gaga will give you the push you need to Marry the Night!

3. BE A RINGLEADER

Divas are in charge for a reason. Their leadership comes from within, from that place inside that gives you the spark of determination. That spark that tells you what's important and what's not. Follow your inner spark and do what matters most!

4. ALL I DO IS WIN-WIN

Collaborate, and collaborate often. Greatness awaits you when you open yourself up to help. No Diva has gotten to where she is by herself, and there is strength in asking for help. The best collaborations are ones where both, or all, parties win.

5. CALL A THOUSAND TIMES, AND LISTEN

Listening to others goes a very long way. Adele has told us that she knows it's hard for her, but really it's hard for any diva-in-the-making. Even when you feel like you're on the other side of the world from someone, showing them you can listen first to understand will help them do the same for you.

6. SQUAD, SQUAD, SQUAD

Work on your squad, bring each other up and leverage your strengths! Don't go it alone - some goals will require skills or assets that you may not possess yet.

7. I'M STILL WORKING ON MY MASTERPIECE

Any Diva will tell you, she is always looking to better herself. Whether it's Jessie J, Britney, Madonna or Bey - they'll all say they're only competing against themselves. Never give up on improving yourself, learning more about everything and looking to continuously improve or sharpen your skills.
